The Profit Prophet

This post has to do with stereotypes and that sometimes age and cunning will always overcome hubris and arrogance... Hope you enjoy.  ________________________________________  Two businessmen in New York, were standing around and taking a break in their soon-to-be new store. As yet, the store wasn't ready, and didn't even have the shelves set up. One said to the other, "I bet any minute now, some Jewish guy is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we're selling."  No sooner were the words out of his mouth when, sure enough, a curious old Jewish man, walked to the window, had a peek, and in a soft voice asked, "Vot ya sellin' here?"  One of the men replied sarcastically, "We're selling ass-holes." Without skipping a beat, the old Jewish man said, "Must be doing well...only two left."

Everybody wants to "be" happy, but do you know what it takes to be happy?  Really, happiness is not found, but discovered through a little be of effort and work.  Most of that work is on ourselves and sadly we often do not know where or how to start on getting happy.  Lucky for you  I love short lists, and lifted many of these from 30 Traits Happy People Have in Common (if you want more info)...  Here they are..Happy People... 1. Many times I am asked about how can you tell if someone is giving you good or bad advice about a business, or marketing strategy, or investment, and while looking at their track record is a good idea, you also have to look at how broad base their knowledge and experience is in general.  The more narrow a person's focus is, the less ability they have to understand the unintended and unforeseen consequences of the advice they are giving you.  I will use the example below to put it into better perspective. ________________________________________ A young Texas farm couple, Ole and Lena, got married and just couldn't seem to get enough lovin'. In the morning, before Ole left the house for the fields, they made love. When Ole came back from the fields, they made love. And again at bedtime, they made love. The problem was their "nooner"; it took Ole a half hour to travel home and another half hour to return to the fields and he just wasn't getting enough work...
