You know, I talk a LOT about customer service and the "WOW Factor," but I wounder if anyone would go as far as this story embodies.  It is NOT only going beyond the pale of expectations, but also renews your faith in mankind!!! We don't know who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter department who understands something about kids and their pets… Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month. The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. The riddle has been around for a long time, and supposedly it has been reported that kindergarteners get it right more often than adults, but there is no evidence that research was ever conducted on the comparative answers of Kindergartners. OK, yes Thanksgiving is coming soon, and of course we start thinking of all those things we are thanking for. For me, thanksgiving is an everyday thing for me and your friendship. In great and small ways, I am grateful and humbled by the vast and varied number of friends in my life. The tapestry you have woven in my life is so diverse and beautiful as to be breathtaking…and I cannot believe how lucking I am. As a little bonus, I thought you would appreciate the story below, about how divine each of you are… A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato chips and a six-pack of root beer and started his journey. I am an engineer, so when I see a reason to combine religion, engineering, and an American icon, Harley Davidson I just have to do it. As I go from network meeting to network meeting during these very uncertain times, I notice two types of people. One type is hoping, praying, and desperately searching for a job. The other type is looking to start a new endeavor or more precisely create their “own” job. As I have been fortunate to be associated with a number of successful entrepreneurs and some successful start up endeavors, one theme keeps recurring: Entrepreneurs are the closest thing to God on Earth! Why? Well, as the story goes, God said “Let there be Light!” In small words, God had a thought, and that thought manifested itself into reality. Essentially, God created something that was not there earlier. So too, an Entrepreneur has an idea and then goes about creating a product, service, company, system or whatever.
