What is a Verteran?

This post is to show my respect for all the veterans out there who served unselfishly, who gave unconditionally, and who sacrificed unrelentingly.. Thank you… Booyah and Semper Fidelis ________________________________________ It is the VETERAN ,  not the preacher,  who has given us  freedom of religion. It is the VETERAN ,  not the reporter,  who has given us  freedom of the press.  It is the VETERAN ,  not the poet,  who has given us  freedom of speech.  It is the VETERAN ,  not the campus organizer,  who has given us  freedom to assemble.  It is the VETERAN ,  not the lawyer,  who has given us the  right to a fair trial.  It is the VETERAN ,  not the politician,  who has given us the  right to vote.  It is the VETERAN  who salutes the Flag,  It is the VETERAN  who serves under the Flag, to be buried by the flag, so th...

What is America?

Look at the wrinkled brow on my face and see the drought in a soul sucked dry by a cold and callous system of men without faith. Look at the tears in my eyes and see that an ocean of hope still wells up within. Look deep, past the years and the fears, and know there is always truth that might shorten your path, and broaden the scope of community. Look where you have not cared to look before, and give a hand up instead of a hand-out! Look at a proud flag flying over all of us, rich and poor, woven in the Maker’s image, for the protection of all those who embrace it. It is not for us to choose the conditions of that freedom or liberty, it is given freely and our oath and loyalties should be also. Look at your condition, and know the only safe harbors for any man in any condition, is under the banner of the red-white and blue. The muddy and bloody tombs of tyranny and elitism are strewn throughout the world where men have thought less of freedom and love, So look long and fondly at the s...

In Memoriam

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion. It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble. It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the VETERAN, not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote. It is the VETERAN, who salutes the Flag, It is the VETERAN, who serves under the Flag. ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve. God Bless them. For those who have perished, may their spirit live on in our freedoms!

Legislative Freedom?

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it." ~~~~ Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931

Freedom and Choice

Recently, I returned from a trip to Washington D.C. with my 15 year old son Jordan. It was amazing to see how many incredible individuals have gone before us to make this the greatest country in the world. As I was able to take in all of these individuals, a repeating pattern began to emerge. What really made these individuals great was the central fact that they believed with all their being extending freedom and choice to ALL individuals. After this eureka moment, I then started to realize that these are the same two reasons why some companies are successful in good times and bad. Two cases in point: Southwest Airlines and JetBlue. Southwest’s motto is “ Your are free to move about the country ,” and they have always tried to be the no frills people centric airline. Yes, they did not have first class, but they gave the customers what they wanted (freedom) and choice of low cost fares. JetBlue also realized that Southwest was leaving open the “high-end” choice segment, so they ...
